Planning Board Approves Abandonment of Goodwin Street Paper Street Near Route 1

NORTH ATTLEBORO — January 16, 2020 — North Attleborough Planning Board unanimously approves abandonment of a paper street at a Route 1 car dealership. The board voted Thursday to approve the application filed November 7, 2019 by H1 Lincoln Incorporated, doing business as Justice Lincoln Honda, to formally abandon a section of Goodwin Street, a long-dormant paper street that has functioned as part of the dealership's parking lot since the business opened. As a condition of the abandonment, the applicant agreed to grant the town a 40-foot utility easement along the former street corridor to protect a sewer line serving the Norton Road neighborhood. The board also heard that the town's Green Communities program application appears close to a positive state determination, previewed a February 6 informational discussion on possible mixed-use zoning for the nine-parcel Office Park 60 district, and received notice from Town Planner Nancy that she plans to retire at age 66 and asked the board to begin transition planning while she is still available to assist.
