North Attleborough Publishes Full Schedule for 250th Independence Celebration
NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH — The town has released its complete event calendar for "Celebrating Liberty's Legacy: 250 Years of Independence," giving residents a detailed schedule for a two-week celebration of the nation's 250th birthday this summer.

The official calendar for "Celebrating Liberty's Legacy: 250 Years of Independence" is now public, mapping out a full slate of activities tied to the 250th anniversary of American independence. The town announced the two-week commemoration earlier this year; the newly posted calendar gives residents the specifics they need to plan ahead.
Also open: registration for the "Twice is Nice" Road Race, a 2.5- and 5-mile run scheduled for July 12 as part of the same Liberty's Legacy celebration. The town is inviting community members of all fitness levels to participate.
Emergency Management Director Christopher Coleman and town officials have posted hurricane preparedness guidance ahead of the Atlantic hurricane season, which is already underway. Residents are encouraged to review the tips and update their household emergency plans.
Senior Center Director Karen Testa has launched a Summer Fan Drive, collecting new fans to distribute free of charge to local seniors who need help staying cool during hot weather. Residents who want to donate or apply for a fan can contact the Senior Center directly.
The town's composting facility is also selling bulk screened compost to contractors at $10 per cubic yard for orders of 20 yards or more — a resource for anyone with a landscaping, construction, or agricultural project this season.
