NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH — The North Attleborough Planning Board voted unanimously to recommend letting professional offices operate by right in the downtown C7.5 district, ending a special-permit requirement staff said turned away tenants roughly twice a month. The board also approved a level one site plan for a daycare at 749 South Washington Street, 4-1, after Department of Public Works sign-off on water flow calculations. Town Planner Gil outlined plans for a full zoning bylaw rewrite, calling it a shared 2027 priority with Town Council, with a request for proposals targeted for November.
Member Greg Walsh cautioned the effort should avoid "unexpected consequences" like those from a prior downtown revitalization consultant, saying that firm "did more for us then like we got money's worth" but also "were pushing" proposals that strayed from the town's character. The board continued the Hillside Estates subdivision hearing to November 12 and adopted its 2027 meeting schedule unanimously.
