NORTH ATTLEBORO — March 31, 2022 — North Attleborough Finance Committee faces a $711,000 FY23 budget deficit with school figures still unresolved. Town Administrator Jim Blase presented a 38-article draft warrant and a preliminary budget summary showing revenues of $39,735,000 against expenses of $40,446,000 at the March 31 meeting, with the shortfall driven almost entirely by the school department's budget being held at a 9 percent increase pending negotiations. Capital requests include two police cruisers, replacement firearms, new defibrillators, and DPW trucks. Policy articles would create an energy special reserve fund, require direct-deposit payroll, and extend town contract authority to five years. The school budget presentation is scheduled for April 7, with a balancing session set for April 14 and the warrant going to press May 9.
