Conservation Commission Approves Senior Center Playground Expansion, Reinstates Unrecorded 2005 Permit
North Attleborough Conservation Commission approves senior center playground expansion and reinstates two-decade-old unrecorded permit.
NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH -- July 7, 2026, North Attleborough Conservation Commission approves senior center playground expansion and reinstates two-decade-old unrecorded permit. At its July 7 meeting, the five-member commission unanimously approved a minor modification to the order of conditions for the town's senior center at 451 Elm Street, expanding a planned pavement-removal area from 1,500 to approximately 2,000 square feet to create an outdoor play space for the building's daycare, with a condition requiring a barrier to prevent wood chips from washing into the adjacent stream. The commission also issued a Negative 3 determination allowing homeowner Dennis Sarrazin to remove five dead ash trees within the 100-foot buffer zone to Falls Pond, conditioning the approval on taking care not to spread the emerald ash borer during removal and disposal. The commission issued an order of conditions for 563 South Washington Street, with negotiated language giving the commission two business days from acknowledged receipt of lab results to approve frac tank discharge during dewatering. A Notice of Intent for 60 Wendy Drive, a fire-damaged home sought for full reconstruction by Joshua and Cherie Jensen, was continued to July 21 pending a DEP file number, revised erosion control plans, and tree mapping within the construction buffer zone; staff confirmed the demolition permit for the above-grade structure can proceed immediately without waiting for an order of conditions. The commission also reissued a 2005 certificate of compliance for 26 Charles W. Barth Drive that had been signed but never recorded at the Bristol County Registry of Deeds, clearing a title obstacle for a pending home sale.
