Town Manager · Meeting of July 28, 2026

NORTH ATTLEBORO — Traffic Study Advisory Group rejects sidewalk parking signs on Oak Street. Resident David Guimond sought signs at 5 and 15 Oak Street after reporting vehicles parked dangerously close to his home and blocked driveways. DPW Director Mark Hollowell, NAFD Chief Christopher Coleman, and NAPD Captain Jason Roy voted 0-3 against the request, noting police already have authority to cite violations and questioning whether signage for already illegal conduct would be effective.

The committee committed to continued enforcement and Public Works review of sidewalk conditions. In separate action, the group tabled discussion of safety concerns at the Landry Avenue and Smith Street intersection, where police documented 10 crashes since 2020, most linked to driver behavior. The committee will conduct a site walk and revisit the matter next month.
