Town Council OKs $50,000 for 250th Independence celebration

North Attleborough Town Council unanimously approves $50,000 for 250th Independence celebration. The July 4-18 event will feature a declaration reading and parade, with funding covering operations, public safety details, permits, and vendor costs, Vice President Keith Lapointe confirmed. The Council also unanimously named 451 Elm Street "The Lenore Paquin Health & Human Services Center," only the second such honor in town history, on a motion by Councilor Daniel Donovan.

The Council authorized the Town Manager to sell two parcels of town land and scheduled a public hearing April 27 on a zoning amendment allowing auto dealerships by Planning Board special permit in three commercial zones. Three FY27 budget-related measures were referred to the Finance Subcommittee for further review, including school safety upgrades and a pumping station improvement agreement totaling $40,000.
