Town Council Finance Sub-Committee advances four measures for full Council

NORTH ATTLEBORO — Town Council Finance Sub-Committee approves wastewater and school maintenance transfers. The Finance Sub-Committee unanimously advanced Measure 2026-109, transferring $289,000 from the Wastewater Emergency Reserve and Retained Earnings to address sludge removal costs, with Town Manager Michael Borg noting a planned conversion to cake sludge to reduce weight and transportation expense. The panel also approved Measure 2026-111, authorizing year-end budget transfers, and Measure 2026-113, repurposing capital improvement funds for HVAC boiler replacements at Community and Amvet Elementary Schools without additional borrowing.
Director Chris Murphy reported the Community School boiler project will finish by August 21st, with Amvet replacements planned for spring or summer 2027.
