Town Council approves updated chicken bylaw and three charter amendments.

North Attleborough Town Council approves modernized backyard chicken bylaw. The council voted unanimously 8-0 on Measure 2026-042 to allow residents to keep chickens on their property with public health safeguards, no roosters except in R-40 zones, and enforcement by the Animal Control Officer and Health Director. The bylaw takes effect July 1, 2026.

The council also unanimously approved three charter amendments that will be compiled as a Home Rule Petition to the legislature at the April 27 meeting, confirmed Remle Gordon to the Council on Aging and Sheri Warfosky to the Housing Authority, and unanimously approved reallocation of unused Capital Improvement Program proceeds to the Health and Human Services Complex construction.
