Town Council approves auto dealership zoning amendment, CIP fund repurposing, and charter updates.

North Attleborough Town Council unanimously approves seven measures in April meeting. The Council voted 8-0 to amend zoning bylaws allowing new and used auto dealerships in three commercial zones by Planning Board Special Permit, consolidating $514,190 in remaining school facility funds for comprehensive safety and security upgrades, and accepting $40,000 in developer mitigation funding for Oak Knoll Pumping Station improvements. Town Manager Michael Borg was authorized to pursue potential entry into the Massachusetts Group Insurance Commission, citing a $1.72 million health insurance deficit with claims running at 124 percent of budget.
The Council also approved a Home Rule Petition consolidating three charter amendments including increased Board of Health membership to five members and accepted Jeffrey Drive in the Westwood Estates subdivision for public maintenance.
