NORTH ATTLEBORO — Planning Board recommends street acceptance, approves $165K bond, backs MXO zoning amendment. Chair Jason Gittle and the board voted unanimously to recommend to Town Council a new Multi-Use Overlay District bylaw establishing five mixed-use zones designed to encourage economic development beyond the town's current 88 percent residential, 12 percent commercial tax split. Town Planner Gil Hilario explained the MXO framework offers developers flexible dimensional requirements and special-permit pathways.
Separately, the board voted 4-0 to approve a $165,000 construction bond for Waters Church at 57 John Dietsch Square and 3-0-1 to recommend street acceptance of Jeffrey Drive for Walsh Realty Partnership's Westwood Estates; the board rejected a waiver request on a restoration bond for the ScribbleTime project at 104 North Washington Street in a 0-5 vote.
