Plainville School Committee Approves 2022-2023 Calendar, Honors 16-Year Member

NORTH ATTLEBORO — March 29, 2022 — Plainville School Committee approves the 2022-2023 school calendar and honors retiring member Lynn Lowe Caporella. The committee voted unanimously to adopt the calendar, which opens the week before Labor Day with the first student day on August 31 and a scheduled last day of June 15 barring weather cancellations; parent-teacher conference dates are to be added at a subsequent meeting. The Plainville Select Board, represented by Chair Brian Kelly and members Jeff Johnson and Stanley Wydeck Jr., presented Lowe Caporella with a framed proclamation recognizing more than 16 years of service, including roles as committee chair, MASC delegate, and special education parent advisory council chair, and noting her 2018 MASC Lifetime Achievement Award. A motion to retain Lowe Caporella as a consultant to committee subcommittees was tabled pending legal review of language governing the regionalization process. The committee also reported the district received the state's top special education rating — "meeting requirements" — for the current year.
