NORTH ATTLEBORO — Cable Advisory Committee discussed North TV's budget and technical requests for Comcast license renewal. North TV Executive Director Peter Gay sought an increase in the Comcast franchise fee from 4.5 percent to 5.0 percent of gross annual revenue to augment PEG operational funding, saying he would accept reduced capital funding of $30,000 annually if approved, down from the current $37,000. Mr.
Gay also requested inclusion of a high-definition channel and expanded live broadcasting capabilities from the DPW room, with possible Comcast assistance in funding the installation. Secretary Thomas Brennan noted that Comcast's representatives have changed to Mike Galla and Rebecca Fracassa. The committee will meet again July 9 to review North TV's capital budget requests and discuss technical enhancements with Comcast.
