North Attleborough Town Council approves tax relief for contaminated sites.

North Attleborough Town Council unanimously adopts Environmental Remediation Tax Relief Agreements bylaw. Town Manager Michael Borg's Measure 2026-041 passed 6-0 after public hearing and second reading, establishing a framework for negotiating Brownfields Tax Abatement Agreements on qualifying contaminated commercial and industrial properties to encourage cleanup and economic redevelopment. The measure takes effect after a 21-day resting period.
Separately, the Council unanimously confirmed Roy Landry to the Cultural Council and approved Measure 2026-055, designating the Resident Services Representative as a Special Municipal Employee under state ethics law. Measure 2026-048, seeking $33,611.88 to repurpose for Multi-Factor Authentication software, was referred to Finance Sub-Committee. A charter amendment expanding the Board of Health from three to five members was continued to March 9; a separate amendment on write-in candidate vote thresholds was referred to Bylaw Sub-Committee after a failed continuation motion.
