North Attleborough Opioid Task Force Details Settlement Fund Spending

NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH — North Attleborough's Opioid Task Force released a progress report Wednesday outlining how the town is investing opioid settlement dollars in local prevention and treatment efforts, as the town and police also rolled out a new afternoon dismissal plan at Community School.

The North Attleborough Opioid Task Force released its progress report Wednesday evening, providing residents a look at how the town has directed opioid settlement funds toward addressing the crisis locally. The report covers the task force's work to date and how settlement money is being invested in the community, according to the town's News Flash announcement.

Separately, the town, the North Attleborough Police Department and Community School are launching a new afternoon pickup plan intended to improve traffic flow and student safety during dismissal. As part of the plan, a new no-parking period will be in effect on Barrows Street, officials said.

COMING UP

Four town boards have public meetings on the calendar over the next week. The Retirement Board, the North Attleborough Electric Board of Commissioners and the Planning Board are all scheduled to meet Thursday, Aug. 27. The Board of Assessors follows with a public meeting Monday, Aug. 31.
