New high school construction crews raced through the summer to keep Beaupre Stadium's lights operational for football season.

NORTH ATTLEBORO -- With no North Attleboro High School games on the schedule this week, per ArbiterLive, the notable athletics-related news came from the School Committee's August 12 update on the new high school building project.

HIGH SCHOOL -- Project manager Chris Kenney told the committee that relocating electrical service tied to the stadium was "a big project over the summer," requiring temporary power poles, a new transformer, and relocation of an equipment shed to a spot adjacent to Beaupre Stadium "so those lights and that stadium can be operational by football season." Kenney also outlined athletic-facility changes in the project's final build-out: work is underway on the Kelly Field softball field, the baseball field is being relocated, and the tennis courts will move to the south and be reoriented, while the stadium itself stays in place. The district added 72 temporary student parking spaces over the summer as part of the construction staging, and officials said the district remains on schedule and on budget, with the new school expected to open for students in fall 2028.
