North Attleborough Finance Sub-Committee advanced three measures and heard urgent briefing on health insurance crisis. Town Manager Michael Borg reported a $1.72 million deficit in the health insurance fund, with March claims hitting 124 percent of budget and GLP-1 costs driving overages. The sub-committee approved acceptance of $40,000 in developer-funded mitigation money for Oak Knoll Pumping Station upgrades (6-0) and accepted MGL 32B, Section 19 to enable union bargaining on health plan restructuring (6-0).
Borg indicated the full Council will likely be asked to approve an additional $2 million to cover this year's health insurance shortfall.
