Finance Sub-Committee Recommends Three Measures to Council

NORTH ATTLEBORO — The Town Council Finance Sub-Committee unanimously backed three measures advancing to the full Council. Town Manager Michael Borg presented Measure 2026-099, which transfers $789,095.56 from FY2026 Free Cash and Capital Improvement Stabilization funds to cover a snow and ice deficit; all six members present voted in favor. The Sub-Committee also unanimously recommended a one-year extension of the Harpers Payroll Services and Labor Logic contracts to allow parallel operation during a transition to UKG software, with Treasurer Collector Chris Sweet confirming data retention for one year plus permanent paper records.
Chair John Simmons and members John Donohue, Craig Cameron, and Patricia St. Pierre discussed Measure 2026-102, which appropriates $65,000 from Free Cash to restore stipends for appointed board and committee members, suspended 11 years ago, with all six voting in favor.
