Town Council FY27 · Meeting of September 30, 2026
NORTH ATTLEBORO — Town Council Finance Sub-Committee voted unanimously to recommend appropriating $1.896 million in PFAS settlement funds for water treatment projects. DPW Director Mark Hollowell reported the Hillman well project is complete with an estimated cost of $10.8 million, while the Adamsdale well will require earlier-than-anticipated media replacement. Town Manager Michael Borg warned the settlement funds represent temporary relief for a permanent problem, with ongoing maintenance costs expected to be "significant and neverending." The sub-committee also unanimously recommended approval of the first year of a three-year labor agreement with the Massachusetts Laborers' District Council, which will increase town labor costs by $66,358.76, with $36,094.24 drawn from the enterprise budget.
