NORTH ATTLEBORO — Finance Sub-Committee unanimously backs FY27 budget and health insurance relief plan. The panel approved a $2.5 million transfer from Capital Improvement Stabilization to cover health insurance expenses through the fiscal year, with Treasurer/Collector Chris Sweet confirming $5.5 million would remain in that account afterward. Town Manager Michael Borg cited a projected $750,000 deficit requiring a 20 percent premium increase; the Sub-Committee also unanimously recommended a three-and-one-half-year Memorandum of Agreement with the Massachusetts Group Insurance Commission effective January 1, 2027, following union requests to negotiate health insurance under a Public Employee Committee framework.
