Finance Sub-Committee approves prior minutes, reviews FY27 department budgets.

NORTH ATTLEBORO — Finance Sub-Committee reviews FY27 department budget presentations across nine municipal offices. Subcommittee Chair John Simmons oversaw presentations from Conservation, Planning, Building, Human Resources, Town Clerk, Elections, Assessor, Accountant, and Treasurer departments. Town Manager Michael Borg outlined a proposed stipends program for elected positions tied to training and ethics requirements, payable annually from free cash if available.
Borg also presented long-term debt service of 4.18 million for FY27 against a self-imposed 4 million dollar cap, with a separate 16 million dollar Hillman PFAS mitigation project funded by ratepayers. Treasurer Christopher Sweet reported a 99 percent collection rate.
