NORTH ATTLEBORO — Cable Advisory Committee discussed Comcast license renewal negotiating positions, planning to engage with the cable provider on four specific objectives. Chair Corey Anderson and Secretary Thomas Brennan outlined goals for the license expiring in August 2027: a franchise fee increase from 4.5 to 5.0 percent of gross annual revenue to support North TV public access programming; flexibility on $37,000 in annual PEG capital funding; inclusion of an HD community channel; and addition of the Department of Public Works room as a live cablecast location. The committee plans to invite Comcast account representative Rebecca Fracassa to an August 17 meeting to begin negotiations.
