By-Law Panel Advances Flood Insurance Rate Map Update to Council

North Attleborough's bylaw panel voted to advance updated flood insurance maps to council.

Town Council FY27 · Meeting of September 23, 2026

North Attleborough's bylaw panel voted to advance updated flood insurance maps to council. The Town Council's By-Law Sub-Committee voted unanimously on September 23 to recommend Measure 2026-101 updating Flood Insurance Rate Maps with amendments addressing watercourse notification and terminology, following a Planning Board hearing on September 17 that supported it 6-0. The committee also discussed Massachusetts cannabis law changes on delivery and social consumption, with Town Manager Michael Borg agreeing to clarify whether delivery is automatic (opt-out) or social consumption requires towns to opt in.

The town has six possible cannabis licenses (one operational, one in development at Pure Roots, one collapsed application, one recent inquiry) and no municipal bylaw. The committee voted unanimously to continue the cannabis discussion at October 7 pending legal guidance.
